From Darlene :
After graduation I married Donald Bagley on October 15, 1960.  We will have been married for 49 years this October.  We have two children Deborah age 47 and Eileen age 45.  We have five grandchildren, Lauren age 17, Matthew age 14, Mark age 28, Paul 28 and Renee age 22.  Our great garnddaughter Brianna is 15 months old.  Her parents are in the Air Force.

After high school I worked for several companies before going to work for State National Bank where I worked for 15 years.  I then went to work for the Stratford Board of Education.  I worked there for 25 years retiring in June of 2007.  I still work there on a part time basis.

My husband Donald is a retired Fairfield Police Officer retiring after 30 years of service.  He then went to work for Ct Liquor Distributors for 17 years, retiring in June of 2007.

From Barbara (Bobbie):

I was adventurous in those days, a risk-taker.  In 1961-62, midway into college, I went to Israel to live on Kibbutz Revivim in the Negev.  (Now they have a website).  Golda Meir's daughter was my Hebrew teacher.  I planted potatoes, harvested grapes, and married an Israeli soldier-- in that order.  (I should have stopped at the grapes, perhaps).  We settled in Trumbull, CT, raised 4 children (3 live locally, 1 in San Francisco), completed a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature (thank you, Ms. Evelyn Copeland, my mentor) and divorced in 1986. I kept my married name until today.  Going forward, my house was filled with teenagers day and night, and most of them were not mine!  I truly loved those days, and would do it all over again.  Now most of them are parents, and still call me, Mrs. B.

My full time careers have included:  public school and college teaching, retail business ownership (1983-93), healthcare administration, fundraising and grant-writing.  I have always embraced change, and still do -- is there a better option?

I met my current husband, Ron Poli, in 1989.  We had an unusual first date.  His parrot bit me (the truth) and we spent the evening in the ER at Yale New Haven Hospital, formally dressed for dinner.   I now own a lot of parrot jewelry.  He got rid of the bird, and we kept each other, on and off.   We were married New Year's Eve in 1994 at the Rabbit Hill Inn (no joke) in Lower Waterford, VT.-- no TV's, no phones.  The inn, at that time, was owned by his high school classmate from Wilton HS and had become our annual getaway for many years.

We now live in Huntington, are both retired and working part-time.  The center of our family is a 4 yr old Schnauzer, Baron.  He travels with us on short trips.   I have continued professionally as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Literature and Communication at Sacred Heart University where I have been teaching for over 32 years, and absolutely love my students, always have.  Together Ron and I have 14 grandchildren (he has 9 and I have 5; his 3 children are more prolific).  We are expecting 2 more this year.  Our attic is a year-round storehouse for toys.

This 50th reunion promises to be very special!  The years have gone by in a blink.  As I tell Fairfield High students today, "Daniel B.Fitts was alive when I went here!"  Hope to see y'all soon.

Bobbie

From GARY:
Leaving Fairfield I travelled all the way to New Haven for Yale College (I really thought it was a far away place from our little world in Fairfield), then went on to medical school at Harvard and trained in medicine in St Louis and then dermatology at Mass General Hospital in Boston. I never got over the travel bug instilled by Evelyn Copeland (perhaps Chaucer) and the innovative AFS program in which we were among the first schools to participate (though I never made the program) and was fortunate to have our US government send me to defend our dermatologic frontiers for three years in Landstuhl Germany not Vietnam. I have been teaching at Albert Einstein, then New York Medical College and now Mt Sinai Hospital since my return in 1974 and have practices in Manhattan and Fort Lee, New Jersey. I love both my teaching residents and fellows and my caring for patients whom I can actually watch getting better (the wonder of treating the skin). I am still a workaholic but do take time to garden and still devote a lot of time to travel with or without medical Congresses. I was the first dermatologist in New York to use and teach laser surgery and I have special interest in treating skin diseases in African-Americans and Asians. I am professionally fortunate to have served as an elected Board member of the American Academy of Dermatology (the largest derm organization in the world) and am now President of the International Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Personally, I lucked upon my wife, Judy, while in Medical school and we have been happily married for 44 years. We have two wonderful and talented daughters, one a marketing executive,Wendy, living in San Francisco with her husband and two sons, the other, Lisa, an attorney and mother of one son in Manhattan. My fifty years since graduation have been very full but it is still intellectually inconceivable that five decades have vanished so quickly and that we really may feel (well, except for morning creakiness) but don’t look eighteen anymore. Even as a dermatologist I can’t change the mirror.
I am looking forward to at least touching souls for a few minutes with you at the reunion as we are each others life-anchors. I still grieve at our Memorial list realizing how many of that group of friends died young and were not able to share all the joys and travails of a full life.

From Robert:
After graduation I joined the Marine Corps and left for Paris Island in August of 59.  Not the best time of year to be in South Carolina, but I wasn't thinking about that when I joined.  After completing my active duty I spent six years in the Marine Corps Reserve.

I was employed as a scheduler expiditor fot the Burndy Corporation in Norwalk.

I got married in May of 1965 and we had three children.  Two sons and a daughter.  Our marraige lasted 28 years and ended in divorce.

I joined the Fairfield Police Department in July of 1965 and worked there for forty four years.  I reciently retired as a Captain this past January and now am enjoying my retirement.

During my career as a police officer I had some wonderful and exciting experiences.  The job was very rewarding.  I was able to get a BS Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Public Administration while working as a police officer.

Nine years ago I married Mickie Buchino.  A girl I had a crush on in high school.  It was worth the wait.  Between us we have 5 children and 9 grand children and another grandchild on the way.

From Margaret:

After graduation I worked for Henry C Red and Son for 1 1/2 years and Peoples Savings Bank. After that I got married to Richard D Evans (Dick). Soon after started the life of a military wife. We moved to Westover Air Force Base in Mass. Had my first son Richard (Rick) there and second son Robert (Bob) there as well. I moved to Biloxi, Mississippi.  From there we went to Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines where I had my daughter Margaret (Maeci). Then we moved to Hanscom Air Force Base in Mass (Dang we love Mass).

A year after, we moved to Germany to live at for 10 years. Then we retired from the Air Force and moved to CT to be where we are now. Dick started a buisness (Fairfield Communications Group) which he runs with our son Bob.  I worked for Center Crafts in the center of town and ended up buying it.  I owned it for about 10 years and had the help of my gradkids (Tina and Theresa/ Tessa)  to help decorate it. Then after the ten years I retired again. Theresa moved in with us and is now on her way to moving back in with her parents. We have 6 grandkids (Rhys, Griffin, Theresa, Tina, Sarah, and Erin) and are living a happy life still in Fairfield.
Now, as for my kids, Rick is a truck driver for Swift, Bob runs the buisness with Dick, and Maeci is a deputy tax collector for the town of Fairfield.

Proud to be an American again, after eight years of shame. Yes that is our President next to me. I meet him 4 years ago at the JJB dinner in Hartford, what a great man. Finally we have a President that can speak, knows how to lead, and has already garnered the respect of other countries.

I graduated from UB with a major in marketing and minors in Psychology and economics. I started my working career as a computer programmer. Several years later I started the computer center at Milford hospital. I design all the systems built the department and stayed there for 10 years.  Since then I have had at least 12 jobs ranging from director of MIS to senior project manager. I have taught hundreds of people project management skills.

In 1969 I married my wife Dorothy. We have two boys. One son lives in CA the other lives in CT. Both are great guys. They must take after my father.

Married to Suzanne for the last 7+ years. Wonderful wife. What she sees in me I don't know. 30 Year career at IBM encompassing engineering, planning, finance, auditing, qualtiy and management. Started mentoring kids as payback for when I was mentored as a kid by a Jesuit. This led me into  into a Mental Health agency which appointed me Manager of Quality and then Director of Quality. Am currently Capital Campaign Manager for the conversion of a 93 mile cross state railroad bed into a 4 season multiuse recreation trail. Suzanne and I enjoy horse camping, skiing and many outdoors sports. Most recently we took up primitive biathalon which is performed using muzzleloaders and wooden snow shoes along with period garb. A lot of fun.
Still finishing a book  (one chapter remaing to write)which is somewhat biographical (Randy Vidal and Arnie Muzante are in the book) and mostly a tutorial on where the world is at with a focus on eschatology or a study in end times.

From Bruce:

After Andrew Warde, I attended UConn and received a degree in Chemistry. The irony is that I never worked as a chemist. Go figure. (Instead, I worked over 40 years in the health, safety, and environmental areas).  The day after  getting my diploma, I was on a  plane to Houston, (talk about culture shock). I lived there 13 years, and really learned to like the Lone Star State and was somewhat saddened to leave in ‘77.

I moved to West Virginia, (yes, it really is a state). It was another adjustment, but we have come to love the area.  The family has been here continuously for 32 years. I was absent for three years while trying to pursue career advancement. Ironically, I spent two years back in Fairfield, at GE, during that period, big mistake.  The town had changed so much. I went back to Parkersburg in1992, and have remained here ever since.

I have been married twice, the first marriage lasting six years. I remained single a couple of years, and then, in ‘70 married Delores Jo Hess, affectionately known as "Mama Jo". I have a total of five children, ranging in ages from 45 to 33 years old.

These days, I play some golf (called by many “hit and giggle” golf), paint a little, enjoy my grandchildren,  and am active in my local church.

Life is good.
